Stop Delaying Joy!

"I'll do it later."

It's one of the most common phrases we tell ourselves.

I'll take the trip later.

I'll schedule the massage later.

I'll start exercising later.

I'll schedule my adjustment later.

The truth is, later often turns into months—or even years.

We wait until work calms down.

Until the kids get older.

Until finances improve.

Until life becomes less hectic.

But here's something I've learned:

Joy doesn't arrive because your calendar finally has an opening.

Joy happens because you decide it's important enough to make room for it.

That doesn't mean expensive vacations or elaborate plans.

Joy might be coffee on the porch before anyone else wakes up.

A walk after dinner.

Reading one chapter of a book.

An afternoon without checking your phone.

Or finally scheduling the chiropractic appointment you've been putting off.

Small moments matter.

In fact, our nervous systems thrive on moments of peace, connection, and recovery.

Those little pauses help our bodies shift out of constant stress and into a state where healing and restoration can happen.

Don't wait for permission.

Don't wait until you've earned it.

Make space for joy now.

Your future self will thank you.
